Evening,
I made it into work this morning but I left early. I've got something that's decided it wants to make a home in my lungs. I came home from work early and slept for 4 hours. Feeling a little more with it now.
Made the mistake of watching Iris though. Not in a good place anyway, so not the best decision I've ever made.

A lovely little day
Evening,
Today's been a lovely little day. Yesterday I was speaking to Angharad and Kirsty to figure out when was a suitable time for us three to meet up to exchange Christmas and (for them) birthday presents. Last night as I was heading to sleep I had a text from Angharad saying that she'd pick me up between 10-11am today. That was sent at 1.16am! It was already getting late so I bedded down.
This morning I woke at 9.30am and was in a bit of a rush getting ready to go. Angharad picked me up and we drove to the Morfa to meet Kirsty. It was only 11am so there were no restaurants open yet. We went into Game where I picked up some bargains (I think!) which were Fallout: New Vegas for £14.98, and The Sims 3 - Ambitions expansion pack for £14.98. Fallout was reduced from £29.99, and The Sims from £24.99, yay!
After that we headed into Starbucks and got ourselves a comfy sofa. The girls both got a toffee nut latte and I got some orange juice. I'm not a coffee drinker. I've been feeling pretty ill the last few days, something's making itself a home in my lungs :( It's now reached my sinuses because I could barely smell or taste the orange juice, and I know from previous experiences and from asking the girls that that brand is a particularly pungent and loud tasting juice!
We all swapped presents which was fun. I gave Kirsty a bin, and some tea/coffee/sugar tins. And a biscuit tin when it eventually turns up! A little random, but Kirsty is currently in the process of buying her first house and these were specific items that she wanted for her kitchen. In return I got a very random personalised jelly mould (!), some tangerine flavoured jelly and a mini bottle of Schmirnoff vodka! Love it! Now I can make jelly that says SARA when it's turned out :D
I gave Angharad a sock puppet kit, some wind up meerkats and a scarf that I knit myself. She loved the scarf which was good, and I hear she's going to play with the meerkats tonight :) In return she gave me 'Le Whif' which is kinda random (click the link to see, it's a chocolate inhaler), and I'm not sure is something I should be using with a suspected chest infection but I gave it a go anyway, a David & Goliath I <3 Ninjas top which is brilliant, and an awesome photo frame made up of 5 prints from one of my favourite new photographers, Suzy Wimbourne. A while back Suzy was selling 5 prints of her work for a very reasonable price, and I bought 2 lots. I recommended her to Angharad, who then bought some and put them into a frame for me :)
After finishing our drinks and swaps, we headed to the Harvester for some lunch. I managed to have a mahoosive coughing fit, which always scares the crap out of me. Thankfully it stopped fairly quickly (felt much longer than it probably was) and we finished our meals which was nice. We had an hour or so to kill before Kirsty had to leave for work so we wandered over (it's a shopping complex that happens to have a football/rugby stadium in it) so went to Argos to pick up something for Angharads niece, then had a wander through the Next sale which wasn't that great. Last year I picked up a dress at random because it wasn't the kind of thing I normally wear, and it's gone on to become one of my favourites :) I like my multicoloured zebra!
We said goodbye to Kirsty so that she could go to work, then Angharad and I went into Swansea to pick up something from the other Argos store which was out of stock in the first one. I used to work in the second Argos store. It's massive, it was hard work but I loved it, and it hasn't changed a bit. There are even some of the same old ladies working there! And the blonde whose name I can't remember, but even know I remember that her boyfriend was called Dean cos she used to screech his name up the belt at him in the stockroom so much!! I do kinda miss working there, although I'm not sure if I miss the work or that particular time of my life.
Angharad and I went to see Burlesque. We both through it was was pretty good, and I enjoyed it - although if you're not a fan of Moulin Rouge then I would probably say to give it a miss. It's not as musical, as there aren't as many numbers, but it's in a similar vein. I'd watch it again at home quite happily.
I'm at home now, and Dad's just called me to our usual Christmas-time-of-the-year buffet so I'd best scoot! Night!

Merry Christmas!!
And a happy new year! I hope you all have time to do something you like over Christmas :)
Yesterday was lovely. I had a sewing machine!! Well excited about that, does anyone know of any blogs with sewing tutorials on? I've not used one before so I'm looking forward to doing new projects and learning as I go. There is a dressmaking for beginners course run by the centre where I attend my knitting course, but it's 15 weeks long and it's going to be too difficult for me to rearrange all my shifts in work so that I can attend them all.

I also had a brilliant knitting solutions book (I'll get the proper name soon) which is written by an experienced knitter and is basically full of answers and solutions to problems knitters may come across. I've only had a quick flick through but it does look great - a brilliant Ravelry alternative if I can't get online as well!
My grandfather (who recently had a heart attack) came for Christmas dinner with us, and it was brilliant to see him looking like his old self again pre op (even if he couldn't have pepper on his food because it makes him cough which is bad for his stitches in his chest!). Apparently he's become something of a legend in the hospitals he spent time in - and an ambulance man told him that he was in the small 5% of people that actually survive having a heart attack in those circumstances. It's his 80th birthday this week (he was born on 30/12/1930) so he's doing extremely well.
Unfortunately 3 out of the 4 of us are ill with something, but it's still nice to be home even if I am ill! Mam has laryngitis, Dad has a chest infection and I've got the beginnings of something (constant headache and coughing). My brother is lucky and so far illness free. Even Tom text me to say that he's also feeling ill, which isn't great :(
Last night we had some drama with the two cats. I was woken by them screaming and growling at about 5.30am. From what we can piece together we suspect one of the neighbourhood cats tried to get in through the cat flap and they attacked. There were 11 pieces of claw casings (not sure of the correct term, but it's similar to when snakes shed their skin) and lots of tufts of ripped out hair - grey, black, white and ginger. Our two are ginger and white, and black and white. There are 2 grey tabbies in the neighbourhood. One is our next door neighbours, and the other lives on the next street up whom my cats hate. Any bets?!
Anyways, I've had 10 hours of (almost) uninterrupted sleep now and it's gone 12pm so I should really get up and get out of bed! Mam's teaching me how to use the sewing machine today, yay! :)
Merry Christmas xx

Callout Again
Taxi drivers are creepy.
There's this one particular one who always acts really over-friendly. I don't know his name, I've barely seen his face and yet he knows the phone number, my name, and where I live.
And tonight he drove me to my house, remembering my house number then said as I got out:
TD: 'I really hope you stay safe tonight'
Me: 'I hope so too! Do you know something I don't?!'
TD: *mumble* I wish, hahaha!'
Me: Clamber out of the car quickly.
Then he watched me get into the house before moving off.
Creepy.
