Promising Start to the Week

Evening,

I went to visit my grandfather today. He's doing well. His heart isn't actually healing as it is at the moment because he still hasn't been transferred to the bigger hospital to have further tests to determine if he needs a stent or bypass operation. But he looks like himself, he was talking animatedly and even stood up and moved around a few times too. He's doing well :)

My aunty picked me up and we both went to the hospital. It was interesting because I haven't spent much time on my own with her, this might actually be the first. She's a headteacher who teaches, which means she's basically doing two full time jobs. She works 70+ hours a week. She's bone thin, gets up at 4am each day to be in work by 6.30am, and works until 6.30-7.30pm. She tutors after school, and goes in and works on Saturday afternoons. That's dedication!

I had a lovely surprise this afternoon. I came home this morning so that I could visit my grandfather. I helped Mam with the last little bits for my brother's room who arrived back this evening. He loves his new room :) We also got him a Spongebob helium balloon to welcome him in!

Not long after we got back home from the balloon buying Angharad & Kirsty showed up! I had arranged with Angharad for her to come and visit so that she could see whether the width and length of my scarf would be what she wanted for the one I make her. She said it was ideal, so at least know I know how many stitches I need to cast on! We then went for an impromptu meal but had to drop Kirsty off at home first. We went to her house and I was introduced to her dog Coby who is HUGE and furry. He's a 1 year old puppy and comes up to my hips (I'm 5'7"). If I wasn't worried about my weight I'd be tempted to try going for a ride on him!

Angharad and I then decided to go and find someplace to eat. I had to be home by 6.15pm to get picked up by my Aunty and the clock was showing 5.30pm so we had to hurry. The local cafe was closed so we went to Tescos and picked up some sushi. We got back to mine and ate. Mam had left to pick my brother up from his school so we sat and chatted for a while. At 6.40pm I realised that my Aunty was late which is unlike her. At 6.41pm we realised that Angharad's car clock hadn't been changed back yesterday when the clocks went back!

So all our rush was for nothing as we actually had a whole extra hour. It was nice though because we got to have a good chat while my cats clambered for attention, and it's always nice to be at home and catch up with friends :)
