Randy Pausch

Do you know this guy?



I watched his Last Lecture a few months ago, which after making me cry for an hour gave me the kick up the ass I needed to face up to the final exams and start working for them. I've never met him but he made a difference that day, and it's not something I am going to forget.

Randy Pausch had terminal pancreatic cancer, which any geneticist will tell you is probably the worst one to have as bad as it is to say it like that. You can't treat it like a lot of other cancers. It's not nice. He was diagnosed in August 2007 I believe, and given 3-6 months. He made the Last Lecture in September as a message for his kids when they were older.

Randy passed away on July 25th 2008 at home with his family.
