Imagine This

Picture this;
You move into a new house, which has been recently gutted and refurbished. When you go to view it, there are builders everywhere, but you are assured everything will be completed by the time you move in. On the day you move in, the kitchen cupboards have not been fully assembled, the shower door doesn't close, there's dust everywhere AND there's a leak coming through your roof and kitchen skylight.

The estate agents tell you they'll send someone round to professionally clean the house, who manage to 'turn up when there was no one in' even though the house is only empty for 20 minutes during that day.

So the house is still dusty, and when the fridge breaks down and is taken away, you can still see the sawdust, and wood chips underneath it.

Then you receive this, on the week before you are moving out, 7 months later.

It's Ooooooover!

Thankfully :) 19 days killed.

Left work at 12.30pm today, took the afternoon off to go househunting. Went into 2 agents, and then bought some food and went home. Pretty shattered and not really in the mood for much. So played WoW for a few hours while playing with the Hotel Chocolat dipping set I bought on Thursday. Twas rather nice, although unfortunately I seem to be really REALLY good at burning chocolate in the microwave, which ruins it. Was able to salvage a bit of the white chocolate though, so spent the afternoon eating raspberries dipped in it, yummy!

The caramellow mini slab I had yesterday was gorgeous and I can highly recommend it. Have a houseviewing tomorrow at 4pm (in case I disappear). The pictures don't seem that amazing, hopefully they will be better in RL. Not sure whether to live with current housemates who I get on with, but I'm not exactly great friends with, or to move in with another set of strangers in the hope that I can make some new friends. More expensive that way but I hate the lack of a social life I have at the moment.

Having said that, BBQ/party of a workmate's tomorrow evening, so have been trying to decide what to wear all week. Must go shopping tomorrow before houseviewing, I've worn most of my decent things to work already, and it will be nice to have something new. Went into H&M today but although a few bits caught my eye the ones I tried on just didn't suit. May go back into the bigger one in the Oracle tomorrow, but I dunno. Starting to wonder about the black dress I borrowed for the Summer Ball too, 2 people have said it's fine, but I don't want it to be fine, I want to look stunning. Pay attention blokes, 'fine' just isn't good enough!! It's as shit a word as 'nice' that english teachers always hate you using as it just isn't descriptive enough.

Shattered

Howdy,

Today is day 15 out of 19. Have worked straight through 2 weekends, including today's bank holiday and I'm pretty shattered now. Unfortunately while I'm looking forward to the weekend I also know it won't feel long enough! I do have a party to look forward to, which I also need to go shopping for. So much easier not to go at all, but I've said I'll turn up now. Hopefully will go okay. Falling back into slightly anti-social ways at the moment, although I have started playing Team Fortress 2 via Steam with Alex the house mate which has been good. Was meant to be playing tonight, but something came up. I just feeling completely lethargic at the moment, and while I would like to be a lot more energetic, and actually doing *something* with my life, at the moment I don't have the willpower to push myself which is great to beat myself up about. Ah well.

Slight Overslip There

Howdy,

Just gearing up for a day of lates, swapped shift with someone so that they could attend a hospital appointment. Realised last night before I left work that at some point I stopped getting countersigned for a procedure that I have to do about 4-5 times a night while on lates, and I don't know when it happened. Which means I have to spend the next few days sitting down going through boxes of archives to find out when and chasing down people who can countersign them for me! Oh dear.

On a positive note, I'm going to re-visit the house I think I'd like to rent. I've already started the proceedings, so it's not a case of changing my mind unless something drastic has happened. More that I've got a shoddy memory lately, and I would like to get a better idea of how much stuff I can fit in, as the new room is just over half the size of the one I'm in now. Went to see it last week and it seems really nice. It's got an actual lounge (instead of 2 tiny sofa's stuffed into an admittedly big kitchen), a table you can actually eat off, a garden with a picnic bench in, all bills included at £320 (cheaper than what I'm paying now) and a dishwasher!! Yay!!

6 Months Today!

Another anniversary!

This one marks 6 months that I started in Thames Water. Scary how quickly that's gone. It feels like time drags sometimes, and then you look back and wonder where christmas went.

My new house is more or less confirmed, which is good :) I hate househunting!

This Little Blog is Getting Old!

Today marks my Little Blog being one year old, aww :)

A hell of a lot's happened in one year, and I'm glad I have the blog to record some of it. I always aim to post more than I do, and I know I should, but...I may resurrect my 'one picture a day' idea at some point depending on my photography skills and course, I loved it initially but found it very hard work and time consuming and I ran out of my own pictures I wanted to use quickly, as I also didn't want to compromise people's privacy. A year on, I have a lot more pictures, and hopefully a little more experience and sense. We shall see ;)

Thank you for following over the past year.

To another year!
